Lomira Heading To D6 Title Game

The Lomira High School football team is heading to Camp Randall Stadium and the WIAA State Championship Game for the first time in program history!   The Lions blew out Belleville 36-0 on Friday night at Oconomowoc to earn a spot in the Division Six State Championship game against Grantsburg.

The Flyway Conference champs led 2-0 after the first quarter registering safety for the only score of the first frame.  That lead stretched to 16-0 at the half via a 1 yard touchdown run from Jack Luedtke and a Jackson Goebel 15-yard TD pass to Brody Luedtke.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Lions scored 21 points, on touchdown runs of 14 and 45 yards by Taylor Schaumberg and a three yard run by Goebel.

Schaumberg fished the day with 224 rushing yards on 30 carries to go along with his two fourth quarter TDs.

Lomira (11-2) will face Grantsburg (12-1) at 1pm on Thursday at Madison’s Camp Randall Stadium.  You can hear the game live on 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam and the WisconsinOnDemand app as part of our ESPN Wisconsin Coverage of the state football championships.
