Local Trees Are Already Changing Colors

9/23/17 – The fall colors in the Beaver Dam area are at 25-percent peak. That’s according to the latest fall colors report from travelwisconsin.com, which says beautiful spot color can be seen throughout the Beaver Dam area and Dodge County with some Sugar Maples already showing vibrant orange and red leaf tones. Sumac are in full red shades while some other trees are beginning to turn to light yellows, orange hues and red tones. The website says as the days roll on into the autumn, there will be sweeping vistas of drying corn fields for dairy feed and pockets of maple, oak, hickory and other native trees as autumn color seep into the landscape of Dodge County. The website says Horicon Marsh is at 30-percent peak. Fond du Lac is at 55-percent peak while Portage is at 15-percent. The Kettle Moraine is at 25-percent peak.
