Local School Districts Have Referendum Questions On Fall Ballot

(Beaver Dam) Several school districts throughout the area will have referendum questions on Tuesday’s ballot.

That includes the Beaver Dam School District, who is looking to borrow $107-million-dollars. The money will be used to construct a new middle school building, make improvements to Washington Elementary School, as well as district-wide safety projects.

There are two referendum questions that the Fall River School District will be posing to voters. One seeks to exceed the district’s revenue limit by $850-thousand-dollars per year for four years for operational expenses. The other is a $9.8-million-dollar question to cover the costs to build a technical education space, make security and swimming pool improvements, and purchase an emergency generator.

The Markesan School District is looking to borrow $26-million-dollars to pay for a school facility improvement project including renovations at the elementary building and Middle School. The district is also looking to make district-wide capital maintenance and building infrastructure improvements.
