Local Pediatric Facilities Awarded Grant Funds

(Dodge County) Community Pediatrics, with locations in Beaver Dam and Waupun, has been awarded a grant of $5,000 from the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation (GWCHF) in support of their “Reach Out and Read” program. “Reach Out and Read” is a national program that promotes early literacy by giving a book to each child at their regular well visits between the ages of 6 months and 5 years. The program seeks to promote good reading habits for families early on as well as a tool for health care providers to assess the child’s development.  This grant award is part of the  Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation’s Spark! Health Grants designed to spark excitement for health transformation and make it easy for community entities to implement proven practices in the areas of Healthy Living and Healthy Child Development.  To date, GWCHF has invested more than $1.4 million in health enhancement initiatives across Dodge and Jefferson Counties.
