(Madison) Dodge County’s only domestic abuse shelter was awarded grant funds through a local Northwest Mutual. PAVE, which stands for Protect, Advocate, Validate, and Educate, is receiving a $15,000 grant. Northwestern Mutual awards grants to nonprofits nationwide through its 2022 Community Service Awards. Seventeen of the company’s financial advisors are being recognized for their commitment to positively impact their communities through dedicated volunteer service.
As part of the effort, the company’s foundation awards grants to nonprofits, this year totaling $310-thosuand-dollars. Each winner can donate the funds to their favorite local non-profit. Debra Smith, a wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual in Beaver Dam, has been named a 2022 Community Service Award winner, receiving a $15,000 grant that she is giving to PAVE.
Northwestern Mutual Foundation President Steven Radke says their advisors’ passion for giving back is demonstrated by their dedication to incredible causes that are making a real difference in their own backyards, bettering the lives of those around them.
PAVE provides shelter, comprehensive programming and support for children, teens and adults experiencing or witnessing domestic violence and sexual assault in Dodge and Jefferson counties. Smith recently helped to raise over $1.3-million dollars to support the construction and renovations of PAVE’s new building.
Northwestern Mutual has donated more than $6.6-million-dollars to nonprofits nationwide through the Community Service Awards program since 1995. The 2022 winners will present their grants to their nonprofits this spring.
