Local College Student Helps Keep Area Children Warm

(Dodge County) A Moraine Park Technical College student helped ensure area children have warm winter wear this year. In collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Fond du Lac, Maggie Landowski from Brownsville created the drive-up event called “Pass on the Warmth” to collect socks, underwear, mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for children. In total, Landowski collected over 370 items for local children in the Fond du Luc area. The donated items were delivered to BBBS of Fond du Lac County families in November. Landowski said the event brought her joy and that it is satisfying to know that the items will help keep children warm this winter. Executive Director of BBBS of Fond du Lac County Tammy Young said she cannot thank Landowski enough who she called their (quote) “angel this holiday season.” As a result of her work, Landowski earned a bronze Student Community Impact award for over 25 hours of community service.
