Litscher Speaker At Juneau Ceremony To Honor Fallen Law Enforcement

(Juneau) Wisconsin Department of Corrections Secretary Jon Litscher will be the keynote speaker Wednesday at a ceremony in Juneau that honors law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. The Dodge County Executive Law Enforcement Association is hosting the event which is open to the public.

In the past, the ceremony has recognized local sheriff’s deputies, a Horicon Police Chief, and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies in August of 2000 during a helicopter crash in Dodge County. This year, the ceremony will honor 12 officers or law enforcement employees; the fallen from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections will be highlighted.

Hustisford Police Chief Dan Link, the president of the association, encourages citizens to attend and speak with the family members of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held from 11am to 11:30am Wednesday at the Dodge County Administration Building which is located at 127 East Oak Street in Juneau. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors.
