The Laconia Spartans also advanced to the D3 State Title Game with a rally for the ages. The Spartans were down to their final strike in the top of the 7th but rallied to score three unearned runs and beat previously unbeaten Mishicot 3-2. Kendyl Pluim collected a pair of hits and knocked in a pair of runs to tie the game in the 7th then scored the go-ahead run on a single by Emma Bohn. Addison Mauer struck out seven and gave up just two runs on eight hits to earn the win.
Laconia will be playing for a state title for the first time since 2017 when they capped off a three peat with a 2-0 win over Bloomer.
Laconia (21-8) faces Prescott (20-8) on Saturday in the D3 State Title Game.
