Planners from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan will work together this week on a proposed network of trails around Lake Michigan. State-and-regional groups have been working on their own shoreline trails in recent years, giving folks a chance to enjoy new biking, hiking, and kayaking routes. Now, officials want to link the trails together into a network that covers 16-hundred-40 miles. Over 150 people are expected to discuss the idea Thursday and Friday at the Lake Michigan Trail Conference in Saugatuck Michigan. They’ll explore an overall vision for the trail network, and how existing routes can be linked into it. Partnerships for the project will also be created.
