(Beaver Dam) A product made at the Kraft Heinz plant in Beaver Dam recently won big at a national contest. The company submitted their Philadelphia Original Cream Cheese brick for judging at the US Championship Cheese Contest, which was held in Green Bay this week.
The product was named Best of Class in the Cream Cheese category. A 10-year employee in the quality department with Kraft Heinz Andy Stommel, who was responsible for submitting the cream cheese brick for judging, said that the product has been made in Beaver Dam since 1928.
Beaver Dam Plant Manager Michelle Terwilliger said that she is so proud of their employees. She adds that it is an honor to be recognized for the quality product their employees produce.
Specialty Cheese Company in Reeseville also won Best of Class in the Latin American Style Fresh Cheeses category.
The US Championship Cheese Contest is a biennial event hosted by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.
