Koenig, Hayes Sign Deals For NBAs Summer League

By the end of Thursday night’s pro basketball draft, no players from the Wisconsin Badgers or Marquette were picked — the first time that’s happened since 2014. But early Friday morning, reports surfaced that Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig both signed deals to play with teams in next month’s N-B-A Summer League. Hayes’ mother, a T-V sports anchor in Toledo, Ohio, says Nigel signed a deal with the New York Knicks — and a writer for Basketball Insiders tweeted that Koenig signed with the Milwaukee Bucks as an undrafted summer candidate. Koenig is the Badgers’ all time leader in three pointers made, and he and Hayes both led the U-W to two N-C-A-A Final Fours in 2014 and ’15.
