(Juneau) Dodgeland Track and Cross-Country Coach Kevin Klueger was presented with a check for the school for $5000 yesterday (Thursday). Klueger made it to the Top 15 in the second round of the nationwide Most Valuable Coach contest sponsored by US Cellular. The top coaches were initially selected based on the positive impacts they have on their players, school and city as well as their leadership qualities. In addition to the donation to the school, Klueger was given a brand-new Samsung Note Nine as an early gift in advance of National Coaches Day which is on November 4. Klueger has 3.1-percent of the voting, good for 14th place. Fans have until noon on Tuesday, November 13 to vote, which is allowed once per day at www.TheMostValuableCoach.com. The winners will be announced on November 20. The top three finalists will receive donations of $10-thousand, $20-thousand and $50-thousand dollars respectively. The first-place coach will also be awarded a Samsung “tech-package” valued at $30-thousand dollars. All of the 15 coaches who made it to the second round are receiving $5000 dollars for their schools. Beaver Dam High School Girls Basketball Coach Tim Chase is currently in sixth place with 5.9-percent of the vote.
