Kennedy Ferron Named 2019 Dodge County Fairest of the Fair

(Beaver Dam) A new Dodge County Fairest of the Fair was crowned Wednesday night. Kennedy Ferron of Beaver Dam is the 36th person to receive the tiara at the fairgrounds; she succeeds Haley Justmann.

“It’s all about the people and I’m just really excited,” she says.

Ferron tells is that being named Fairest is an honor because she grew up at the fair in 4-H and FFA, showing beef cattle. She says agriculture is something she is passionate about. Ferron will be a junior at UW Platteville this fall, where she is majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in Meat Animal and Livestock.

Coincidentally, her new roommate was last year’s Fairest of the Fair in Sauk County. And Ferron’s roommate was in attendance Wednesday night to cheer her on. “I’m so happy to have her support,” she says. As far as advice, Ferron’s roommate told her to “enjoy it, because it goes by so fast.”

Ferron will be participating alongside her recent predecessors at the Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Contest Friday afternoon. She is most excited about introducing country band Lanco on the grandstand stage Friday night.
