(Juneau) Dodge County Clerk Karen Gibson says there were just under 17,000 ballots cast in Tuesday’s election. With 49,500 registered voters in Dodge County, Gibson says that is a turnout rate of about 34-percent.
“I look back at the last presidential preference in 2020 and we had 23,000 ballots cast and only 17,000 roughly this election…so, quite a bit lower but in 2020 that democratic presidential preference wasn’t settled yet and I think that’s what brought a lot of voters out.”
Gibson, who just wrapped up her final election as county clerk, says she is telling her staff to prepare for 100-percent turnout for the fall presidential vote.
