Jury Trial Scheduled for Milwaukee Man

(Watertown) A two-day jury trial was scheduled this week for a person charged for his alleged role in a home invasion in Watertown three years ago. Devon Robinson of Milwaukee is facing a felony count of Armed Robbery with Use of Force and Burglary. A Watertown police officer was dispatched to a residence in May of 2018. A woman told police that she was sleeping when two suspects awakened her; one of them pointed a gun and demanded money and marijuana. In the following days, investigators talked to witnesses who noticed two suspicious individuals walking near the home and reviewed security footage that tied the suspects to a red pickup truck. Tommie Plummer of Watertown was identified as the operator of the vehicle. The 32-year-old initially denied involvement in the crime but later admitted that a person who lived at the home would provide him marijuana and that person shorted him in a drug deal. Plummer admitted to taking 28 grams of marijuana and $800 dollars in cash from the property and was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison two years ago. In 2019, an inmate came forward who was in the same pod at the county jail with Plummer. The inmate reportedly said Plummer identified Robinson as the second person involved in the robbery. Testing allegedly found Robinson’s DNA at the scene of the crime. If convicted, the 35-year-old faces up to 52-and-a-half years in prison. The trial was slated to begin on July 20th.
