Jury Trail Delayed To 2022 For Waupun Murder Suspect

(Waupun) The trial of a Waupun man accused of murdering his grandmother has been pushed to next year. Gregory Spittel now has a five-day jury trial slated to begin January 10 in Fond du Lac County court; the second time the trial has been postponed. The 32-year-old is facing a dozen felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from the August 2019 death of Carol Foreman. The 75-year-old was found in the basement of the suspect’s home with serious head injuries and died four days later. Officers initially responded to the residence for a medical call. Spittel was drunk and screaming when they entered and allegedly confronted and threatened them. The trial was initially slated to begin last September but had been delayed until later this month. Spittel remains jailed on a one-million dollar cash bond.
