Juneau Teen Given Three Years In Prison On Child Porn Charges

(Juneau) A Juneau teen was sentenced to three years in prison Monday for possessing illicit images of children. Jeremy Slayton entered a guilty plea to three felony counts of Child Pornography in September. Seven additional charges were dismissed but read into the record. Slayton was also placed on extended supervision for five years.

A Dodge County sheriff’s detective began investigating an International Crimes Against Children complaint last year. Multiple illegal photos were uploaded to a Dropbox account that was tied back to Slayton. During the detective’s investigation, he had been in intermittent communication with the teen who had filed for employment with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

An interview with the 19-year-old was set up for last December under the guise to discuss his interest in an open jailer position. When questioned, Slayton denied making or placing images in a Dropbox account but he recalled pop ups and reminders to make the account.

Detectives found images consistent with child porn during a search of Slayton’s laptop.
