10/12/17 – A Juneau man is accused of leading police on a drunken high-speed chase. Darrell Butterbrodt is charged with one felony count of Attempting To Elude a Traffic Officer for the incident in July. Officers attempted a traffic stop near Burnett but the suspect increased speed then turned into a private driveway. The 58-year-old pulled into the garage and tried to close the garage door but stopped as the office removed a Tazer gun from his holster. Butterbrodt reportedly admitted to having five-to-six drinks with dinner. He failed a field sobriety test and according to a blood test his blood alcohol level was point-one-three (.13). If convicted, the charge carries a maximum sentence of three-and-a-half years in prison. Butterbrodt is scheduled to make his initial appearance later this month.
