Juneau Approves Land Swap In Industrial Park

5/10/17 –  Action by the Juneau Common Council last night opened up some more available land in the city’s industrial park. The council approved a land swap agreement with Glander Transit (BIB Properties LLC) that gives the city eight acres of land in exchange for just under five acres. In exchange, the city is paying for $7500 for survey costs, utility upgrades and other infrastructure improvements. The money comes from funds that come under the discretion the city’s Community Development Authority. Mayor Dan Wegener says Glander Transit is using the land to put up storage facility both for the business and for rent. The Juneau Industrial Park is currently about 80-percent full.
