Joyce M. Dummer, 88, of Beaver Dam entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Dycora Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Noon at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with the Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 a.m. until Noon also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
Joyce was born August 13, 1930 in Hartford, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Sturm) Neuendorf. She was married to William G. Dummer Jr. on December 16, 1950. Later they were blessed with a son, William Todd Dummer.
Joyce was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. She attended St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran School and was a 1949 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.
She had worked for 35 years in the grocery business including Krogers, Bill’s Super Value, Orv & Wally’s, Orv’s United Foods and Tate Foods. Joyce loved her job and all the wonderful customers.
Early years she enjoyed roller skating and her Girl’s Birthday Club. The club was pictured in the Daily Citizen for lasting 55 years and still going. Later years she did a lot of traveling which she enjoyed very much. Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were very special and a treasure to her.
Joyce is survived by her son Bill Dummer; former daughter-in-law Janelle Dummer; granddaughter Stephanie Dummer and grandson Nicholas Dummer all of Madison; her sister Gloria Ptaschinski and her family Pam (Terry) Harks of Sullivan, Debbie (Pat) Noonan and their children Barry, Ashley, and Andrea; Ann Ptaschinski (Bill Bornick) of Beaver Dam, Amy (Mike) Grom of Bath, PA and their son Logan; Rita Noon and Joyce’s special friend Shirley Braun; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, her brother Donald in infancy, grandson Anthony William Dummer in infancy, father and mother-in-law William and Esther Dummer, brother-in-law Roger Ptaschinski and nephew Mark Ptaschinski.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Joyce’s name may be directed to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
