Jean Lois Towne, age 90 of Cecil, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Birch Hill Health Services in Shawano, WI.
Jean was born on February 24, 1932, a daughter of Paul and Evelyn (Mertens) Deaver. She was united in marriage to Richard Towne on August 12, 1950. Richard and Jean worked together in Towne Construction, building and remodeling houses. They enjoyed an early retirement in 1984 traveling to TX, AZ, NM and CA while working at the camper ranches. She enjoyed socializing at the club houses and listening to Richard play his guitar. They returned to Wisconsin during the summer months. After their retirement travels, they returned to Waupun, where they began their married life together. She enjoyed visits from family and friends.
Jean enriched the lives of her siblings, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean’s great-great granddaughter is due around her birthday.
Jean is survived by her husband, Richard Towne of Cecil; two daughters, Linda Coehoorn (Steven Kwakkel) of Ripon and Faye (Steven) Zangl of Cecil; four grandchildren, Erik (Peggy) Coehoorn, Shelby (Joe) Schuhart, Trudy (Jeremy) Weber, and Nikki (Jonathan) Logan; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Glen Deaver of Brandon, and Verda Mae Berkers of Fox Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Grandson, Jay Zangl; Brother, Ames Deaver; Sister, Ellen Ann Veto and brother-in-law, Roy Veto of Racine; brother-in- law, John Towne; sister-in-law, Delores Deaver.
A private gathering will be held at a later date.
