Janice Rabehl

Janice Rabehl, age 83, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at her home.

A memorial service for Janice will take place on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake with the Rev. David Nottling officiating. Visitation for Janice will take place from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.

Janice was born the daughter of Gerhart and Martha (Griesbach) Simon on July 9, 1935 in Beaver Dam. She was a 1953 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Janice was united in marriage to Stephen Rabehl on April 20, 1968 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  She was retired from Nancy’s Notions in Beaver Dam, where she had worked in customer service.  Janice was a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Fox Lake for over 50 years and was also a long time member of the Fox Lake Golf Course. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed reading and was a seasoned traveler. She also enjoyed watching classic movies, especially “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Janice is survived by her husband of 50 years, Stephen of Beaver Dam; her children: Suzanne (Paul) Lippold of Fond du Lac, Julie (Jason) Timm of Waunakee, and Scott (Erica) Rabehl of Madison; her grandchildren: Will Gerrits, Jake Gerrits, Hannah Timm, Sutton Rabehl, Campbell Rabehl, Ken Lippold, Brandon Lippold, and Hannah (fiancé Eric Schueler) Hupfer; and her brother, Mitch Simon. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Harvey and Margaret Rabehl, sisters-in-law: Lois Simon, Shirley Rabehl, and Helen Rabehl, and her brothers-in-laws: Don Rabehl, David Rabehl, Sonny Walker, and Herbert Radke.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the many nurses of Hillside Hospice who cared for Janice, their wonderful care and compassion will always be remembered.  Thank you to Pastor Nottling for his care, many visits and friendship throughout the years it meant so much to all of us.

It truly was a Wonderful Life!
