Authorities Release Names In Three-Vehicle Wreck Near Theresa

10/14/17 – Dodge County authorities have identified the motorists involved in a three-vehicle accident that seriously injured one person Wednesday evening in the Town of Theresa. A car driven by 49-year-old Jill Zabler of Lannon was northbound on Interstate 41 around 5pm when she abruptly turned into the left passing lane. It happened just north of State Highway 28, at the crossover which is the U-turn area for highway maintenance and law enforcement vehicles. Zabler was struck from behind by another northbound vehicle driven by 43-year-old Brian Romanowich of Appleton. The force of the impact pushed the Zabler vehicle into the southbound lanes where it was struck by a truck operated by 61-year-old Richard Pautz of Milwaukee. Zabler was flown from the scene with possible life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized. Her exact condition is unknown. Romanowich and Pautz were not injured and there were no other passengers in any of the vehicles. Interstate 41 was closed for nearly three hours. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is leading the investigation into the cause.
