(Jefferson County) An upcoming informational meeting will cover a bridge reconstruction project in Jefferson County. The governor recently signed a $5-million-dollar contract to reconstruct the South Main Street bridge over the Rock River in Jefferson.
State transportation officials say South Main Street will be closed for the duration of construction and detoured using Interstate 18 and the Highway 26 bypass. A meeting scheduled this Wednesday (October 5th) will discuss the construction schedule and traffic impacts.
The meeting will be held at Jefferson City Hall on 317 Main Street. It will start at 5pm and goes until six. The project is slated to begin October 17th and be completed by next summer.
