8/4/11 – A public information meeting is scheduled today (Thursday) for a storm sewer improvement project in Beaver Dam that’s scheduled to get underway later this month. The work will take place on Grant Street from East South Street to East Mill Street and on East Mill from Louden Avenue to Roosevelt Drive. The project includes the replacement concrete pipe with a larger pvc pipe; the installation of additional inlets on Grant Street and East Mill Street; and then repaving. Grant Street and East Mill Street will be closed to through traffic during all phases of construction. Residents will have access to their properties during most phases of construction though access during asphalt paving will be limited. If special access is needed, arrangements can be made with the contractor. All the work will be performed by the Department of Public Works, except the paving. Plans will be on display for viewing today beginning at 5:30pm with an informal meeting beginning at 6pm in the Beaver Dam Council Chambers at City Hall. Those who are unable to attend can view the project plans in the engineering department. Contact Engineering Coordinator Ritchie Piltz at 887-4600, ext. 326 for more information.
