Two Injured Following Head-On Collision With Tractor Trailer In Fort Winnebago

(Fort Winnebago) Two people were injured when a vehicle crashed head-on with a tractor trailer on Highway 33 in the township of Fort Winnebago Monday morning. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office fielded multiple reports of the accident near Foote Drive around 10:45am. Sheriff Roger Brandner says a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 33 crossed the centerline into the westbound lane, colliding with the tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured while the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to Divine Savior Hospital with injuries. Brandner says their initial investigation revealed that the operator of the passenger car was found to be impaired. The crash remains under investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting at the scene were the Portage Police Department, Portage Fire Department, Divine Savior EMS and Blystones Towing.
