Illinois Man Arraigned On Charges He Fled Dodge County Authorities

(Brownsville) An Illinois man accused of running from Dodge County authorities was arraigned this week. James Cochrane entered a not guilty plea to a felony count of Fleeing.

The marshal of the village of Brownsville clocked a vehicle speeding in August on Main Street. After activating their emergency lights, the suspect vehicle increased its speed and reached 83 miles-per-hour as it exited the Horicon Marsh. The chase continued towards Waupun were an officer successfully deployed a tire deflation device which disabled the vehicle.

According to the complaint, Cochrane was identified as the driver and said he kept driving because he did not want another ticket. He allegedly told law enforcement that he wanted to make a (quote) “fiasco” and wanted to be the highlight of their day. If convicted, the 33-year-old faces up to three-and-a-half-years in prison.
