Monday, November 5th:

Tuesday, November 6th:

TODAY IS: Nachos, Basketball, Saxophone, Marooned without a Compass, Election Day

Today is Election Day-make sure you vote! We discussed why we vote on the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November; 9 different kinds of saxophones-can you name them all? Also shared tips on how to adjust to the fact tht daylight saving time is gone. I shared a “Thanksgiving checklist” because there are only 16 days until Turkey Day. Jane Losey visited and shared some great Thanksgiving side dish ideas. Recipes shared: Broccoli and Cauliflower with  Bread Crumbs and Romano, Slow cooker cheddar and Chive Mashed Potatoes and Pork Tenderloin with  Apples, Bacon and Squash (from our last LOCAL DISH program).

Wednesday, November 7th:

We talked about nuts and how to keep the flue at bay this season. Recipes: Ham and Egg Cups, Cheesy Egg Breakfast Sliders, Banana Blueberry Nut Bread, Impossibly Easy Pumpkin Pie

TODAY IS: Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds, Hug a Bear, Magazine, Notary Public


Thursday, November 8th:

We discussed “Harvey Wallbangers–and where it originated; good choices for houseplants in fall and winter; different ways to flavor your turkey (dry rubs, glazes and aromatic), the Beaver Dam Holiday Parade-December 2nd this year; and turkey tips (ie: how much per person; how long to thaw, etc. Recipes given: Healthy Broccoli Cheese Bake, Turkey Dry Rubs, Glazes and Aromatics, and Individual Brownie cheesecakes in a Jar

TODAY IS: Harvey Wallbanger, Try a new Recipe, X-ray, Ample Time


Friday, November 9th:

To we talked about what “Scrapple” is; mushy peas, how to remove burnt smell from the microwave, how to roast various veggies; and easy entertaining ideas that kids will love. Recipes we shared: Marshmallow Bars, Microwave Spiced Nuts, Raosted Autumn Vegetables and SPAM sandwiches.
