Husty Boys Punch Ticket To State Hoops Tournament

For the first time in school history the Hustisford boys basketball team is heading to the WIAA State Basketball Tournament.   The Falcons went on the road and blew out top seeded Monticello 70-43 on Saturday night a WIAA Division 5 Sectional Final.  The Falcons had three players score in double figures led by senior Dylan Kuehl with 22.  Alex Eggleston added 20 and Gavin Thimm 13.

Husty jumped out to a 35-21 lead at the half and never looked back.   Monticello (17-4) earned the #1 seed over Hustiford via a coin flip at the seeding meeting after coaches couldn’t decide on who should be seeded higher.  The Falcons had been ranked #1 most of the season in the Wissports.net Division 5 Coaches Poll.

Hustisford (16-3) earned the #1 seed at state and will face #4 Wauzeka-Steuben (16-2) in a D5 Semifinal at 9:05pm on Thursday morning in LaCrosse.  #2 McDonell Catholic (16-4) will face  #3 Green Bay NEW Lutheran (16-10) at 12:35pm.   The D5 state championship game is set for 7:05pm on Thursday night.
