Hustisford Man Makes Initial Court Appearance On OWI Injury Charges

(Hustisford) A Hustisford man accused of injuring multiple people after a crash while under the influence made his initial court appearance Monday. Dustin Held is facing felony charges of OWI Cause Injury Second Offense and Operating with a Restricted Controlled Substance Cause Injury Second Offense.

The crash occurred on Highway 60 in Hustisford last August. Held reportedly pulled out in front of a westbound vehicle and they collided. The driver of the westbound vehicle and two passengers in Held’s car had to be taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Held allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana roughly two hours before the crash. A preliminary breath test reportedly returned a reading of point-zero-six-zero (.060) and a blood draw found traces of THC in Held’s system, according to the complaint.

If convicted, the 25-year-old faces up to 12 years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and preliminary hearing is scheduled for this Thursday, October 27th.
