Horicon Searching For New Director of Public Works

(Horicon) The city of Horicon is in the process of finding a replacement for a longtime department head. Director of Public Works Dave Magnussen is retiring on June 7th after working 15 years with the city. The Common Council met in closed session last week to review applicants and plan to meet with them in the coming weeks. The city council approved a job description during their meeting this week. Duties include being responsible for operation and maintenance of the city’s water supply, wells, pumping stations, water mains, fire hydrants and the Wastewater Treatment Facility, among other tasks. Mayor Jim Grigg says the goal is to have someone hired before Magnussen’s last day.
