Horicon Man Given Jail Time For Pursuit

(Beaver Dam) A Horicon man was sentenced to 140 days in jail for initiating a pursuit with Dodge County authorities. Richard Hron entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Fleeing. An additional misdemeanor count of Possession Drug Paraphernalia was dismissed but read into the record.

A sheriff’s deputy was alerted just before 3am in September that a vehicle was heading west on Highway 33 with no headlights on. It was also swerving within its lane and crossing the centerline. After the deputy activated their emergency lights, the suspect vehicle turned on its own lights and accelerated away.

The vehicle reached speeds of 75-miles-per-hour as it headed north on Highway 151 before stopping in front of spike strips that were deployed in the roadway. The driver, identified as Hron, was arrested during a high-risk traffic stop.

The 32-year-old was also placed on probation for two years.
