Horicon Man Fails To Appear On Fleeing Charge

10/10/17 – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Horicon man who is accused of speeding away from police within the city limits of Beaver Dam. Dayne Cronce did not appear in court yesterday for his initial appearance on charges of felony Fleeing or Eluding an Officer. On May 21, Beaver Dam police received a harassment complaint from a resident that stated Cronce was following them in a black SUV. While on patrol, an officer noticed Cronce’s vehicle and activated his emergency lights. According to the criminal complaint, the 19-year-old then sped off at a high rate of speed. The officer reportedly observed Cronce travel through several stop sings while reaching speeds near 80-to-100-miles-per-hour before disengaging. The next day Cronce turned himself in and allegedly told investigators that he had “a beef” with the individual who made the complaint and “got scared” when he saw the police. Cronce also reportedly told officers he was drinking prior to the incident. A preliminary-breath-test was taking which resulted in a reading of point-zero-six (.06). If convicted, Cronce faces three-and-half-years in prison.
