(Juneau) A home was damaged by fire in the city of Juneau Tuesday. Around 1:30pm, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office notified a returning Juneau Fire Department engine from Horicon that there was a possible fire at N7160 County Road I in the city.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working fire, and additional resources were called in. Once firefighters confirmed all residents were able to evacuate safely, one crew advanced a hose line to the basement to help contain the blaze. A second crew brought a hose line to the first floor and located flames in the bathroom.
There was significant damage to the exterior wall of the home and firefighters needed to remove a portion of the exterior wall to stop the fire’s spread. The seat of the fire was located on the sill plate and top of the foundation. Its cause is still under investigation. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Juneau Fire Chief Ed Weiss says with the quick response of all fire departments and working smoke detectors, it helped reduce more property loss.
