History Presentation Will Cover Beaver Dam Streets

(Beaver Dam) The public is invited to attend a presentation Wednesday that will provide an in-depth look at the history of the streets of Beaver Dam. Local historian Roger Noll will discuss the development of the city’s platting of streets from 1841 to the 1920’s which will include how they got their names, who gave them their names, what streets have changed and what streets have disappeared. Noll says this will be a repeat presentation from last year after numerous requests from the public. He says last time, there were over 100 people at the presentation with several people having stand in order to view the show. Noll says there will be two presentations today, one at 2pm and another at 6pm so there should be plenty of room. During Monday’s Community Comment program, Noll said they will be showing a short film of downtown Beaver Dam from 1948. The presentations will take place in the basement of the Beaver Dam library.
