(Allenton) Highway 33 through Allenton will be shut down for a week while crews work on the city’s railroad line. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is notifying motorists of the full closure starting October 28 until November 1. The Wisconsin Central Ltd. (Canadian National Railways) is reconstructing the railroad crossing located between Weis Street and County Road W. The DOT says driveways for local residents and businesses will not be impacted. They add that the closure is weather dependent and subject to change. An official detour will be posted using County Road W, Highway 175, County Road K and I-41.
