Randolph 41 Fall River-Rio 6
The Randolph football team dominated all three phases of the game in a 41-6 route of Fall River-Rio on Friday night in Randolph. Matt Dykstra ran for a touchdown and also caught a TD pass on a halfback option from Jordan Tietz to pace the Rockets offense. Randolph’s scores included a touchdown on special teams when Ben Schmucki rumbled three yards after Jax Rataczak blocked a punt early in the 3rd quarter. Offensive lineman Travis Alvin also picked up a fumble from one of his running backs and scampered 20 yards for a TD with 1:31 left in the 3rd. The Rebels lone score of the game came with :18 second left in the 4th quarter when Matt Miller hit Jacob Rowe on a 54 yard TD pass. Zach Paul led the Rockets in rushing with 10 carries for 59 yards and a TD. Jordan Tietz added 37 yards on the ground. Logan Vander Gailen ran for a TD and also had an interception on defense for Randolph. Miller led the Rebels with 25 rushing yards. Randolph (5-1) will host Watertown Luther Prep next Friday. Fall River-Rio (1-3) will host Lourdes Academy at Rio next Friday night.
Markesan 68 Dodgeland 7
Dodgeland score on the opening play of the game on a 70-yard half-back option from Andrew Benzing to Cy Otte after then Markesan ran off 68 straight points in a 68-7 win on Friday night. On the ensuring kickoff, Caleb Stoll took it 85-yards to the house and the Hornets never looked back. Caleb Jahnke ran for three scores while Tyler Mast and James Triggs each ran for a pair of scores. Markesan led 52-7 at the half. The Hornets (1-4) will host Palmyra-Eagle next Friday night. Dodgeland (0-4) will host Cambridge.
Cambridge 43 Waterloo 13
Cambridge jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and rolled by Waterloo 43-13 on Friday night to deal Waterloo their first Eastern Suburban Conference loss of the season. After trailing 28-0 at the break, the Pirates Blake Huebner hit Jackson Christenson on a nine yard TD pass on the opening drive on the 2nd half. Eugene Wolff scored on a 55-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Pirates other score. Wolff finished the day with a game high 131 yards. Waterloo (3-2) hosts Marshall next week with a chance to grab a share of the Eastern Suburban Conference title.
Baraboo 45 Watertown 26
The Baraboo Thunderbirds came to Watertown and picked up a 45-26 win on Friday night. After the T-Birds jumped out to a 16-0 lead , Watertown got on the board late in the 2nd when QB Caleb Huff scored from two-yards out to make it 16-7 at the half. Midway through the 3rd, Huff hit John Clifford on a 7-yard scoring strike to make it 16-13. After an on-side kick Huff scored from six yards out, pushing Watertown to a 20-16 lead. Baraboo then scored 18 straight points to put the game away. The Goslings (2-4) will travel to Grafton next Friday night.
