High School Football Preview – Week 6

Friday, October 30th


Fall River/Rio (1-2) @ Randolph (4-1)

The Rebels look to bounce back from last week’s 34-18 non-conference loss to Brookfield Academy.   Senior Jacob Rowe leads the Rebels in rushing (242 yards, 2 TDs) & receiving (8 catches for 135 yards, TD).  Rowe also returned a kickoff 90 yards for a TD in the win.  Randolph gets back on the field after dropping a 17-14 decision to 2nd ranked Lourdes Academy last Friday night in the Fox Valley.  Zach Paul leads Randolph in rushing with 580 yards and seven touchdowns.  QB Brayden Haffele has thrown for 402 yards and 5 TDs and also rushed for 340 yards and 7 scores.  The Rockets are ranked #6 in this week’s wissports.net Division 7 Coaches Poll.


Dodgeland (0-3) @ Markesan (0-4)

Both teams enter this one looking for their first win of the 2020 season.  Markesan has played the top teams in the Eastern Suburban Conference tough, but haven’t been able to get over the hump.  QB Hayden Quade has rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns.  Sophomore Michah Kracht has also ran for 183 yards out of the Hornets backfield.  Sophomore Jaden Walker has 3 sacks to lead the Markesan defense.  Dodgeland is led by senior Andrew Benzing who has rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown.  Benzing also leads the Trojans in tackles.


Waterloo (3-1) @ Cambridge (3-2)

Waterloo rides a three game win streak into this big Eastern Suburban Conference matchup.  The Pirates used a strong ground game to pick up a 28-16 win over Markesan last Friday night.  Eugene Wolff ran for 149 yards and 2 TDs while Jordi Aguero added 75 yards and 2 scores in the win.  Cambridge needs to win tonight to have any chance of sharing a league title.  Coming into this season the Blue Jays had won the last three conference titles in the Capitol South.  Trey Colts leads Cambridge in rushing with 501 yards and five TDs.  QB Ezra Stein has thrown for 412 yards and a pair of TDs.  He’s also rushed for 289 yards and five touchdowns.


Baraboo (4-1) @ Watertown (2-3)

The Goslings return home looking to snap a two game slide as they host Baraboo tonight.  QB Caleb Hufff has thrown for 540 yards and 3 TDs and has also rushed for 162 yards and a team leading five touchdowns to pace Watertown.  Dylan Sippel leads the Goslings in rushing with 186 yards and 2 scores.  Baraboo comes to Watertown having won two game in a row in shut-out fashion.  Last week the T-Birds went on the road and blanked Sauk Prairie 35-0.  On October 16th the shutdown Reedsburg 24-0.  Baraboo also shutout out Edgewood 33-0 and beat Sauk Prairie in the opener 21-3.  The T-Birds lone loss was a 20-19 home loss to Sussex Hamilton on October 10th.   Junior QB Luna Larson has thrown for 461 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for 564 yards and 8 TDs.
