7/17/17 – Organizers working to bring a new skateboard park to Beaver Dam say they hope to have the facility open before autumn. The skateboard park would join an existing dirt biking track which is across a small pond from the city’s newest dog park. Joann Lehman with the Beaver Dam Community Skateboard and BMX Park Committee says the concrete pad for the park was supposed to be poured in the spring but inclement weather forced a delay. The group already has several skateboard obstacles and $30-thousand dollars for use toward a 60-foot-by-100-foot concrete pad. Lehman is seeking financial and in-kind donations to help get the project complete. In the meantime, the group also needs helping keeping the park clean. A monthly park spruce-up is planned for this Saturday from 10am until 2pm. The Patrick Parker Conley Park as it is called is located on a patch of land off Fletcher Road between Beichl Avenue, County Road E and Highway 151.
