Helen M. Freitag

Helen Marie Freitag, 89, of Beaver Dam, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 18th,2024.

Helen was born on July 12, 1934 in Watertown to Harvey and Esther (Elske) Kuhlman of Lowell. She was a 1952 graduate of Juneau High School and was employed in administration with the Dodge County Farm Service Agency in Juneau for many years. She was united in marriage to Armund Freitag on September 28, 1965.

Helen kept a very strong Christian faith throughout her life and was a lifelong member of Lowell United Methodist Church where she was baptized and confirmed in her faith. She taught Sunday School and served as its Superintendent for many years as well as singing in the choir. Helen enjoyed country living, along with planting and working in her flower beds and maintaining her yard on her riding lawn mower. She also enjoyed nature, especially red cardinals.

She was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan, attending many football games in Madison thru the years and watching Badger basketball on TV. Helen also enjoyed watching the Brewers and going to the horse races with Barry. She loved to entertain and had a flair for decorating her home for the seasons and holidays. She always remembered relatives and friends with greeting cards, always including a personal note in her beautiful handwriting.

Helen also hosted her family on Christmas Eve for many years and it became a tradition until her health declined. She was an excellent cook but her biggest gift was being a wonderful homemaker and a loving Mom to Barry.

Helen is survived by her son Barry of Beaver Dam; her sister Janet Carroll of Cedar Key, Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Armund; brothers David and William in infancy, and her brother-in-law Dennis Carroll.
