Hartford Finds New Police Chief

(Hartford) There will soon be a new police chief on the beat in Hartford. The city’s Police and Fire Commission Wednesday unanimously appointed Hartford’s current Administrative Lieutenant, Scott MacFarland, to the position effective February 11. MacFarland will succeed Chief David Groves who has been in the position since 2006. MacFarland has spent his entire 24-year law enforcement career in Hartford. He is only the eighth police chief in the city dating back to the departments founding in 1922.
