(Beaver Dam) Fresh off a big win at the Mascot Hall of Fame, Benny the Beaver has been named the Grand Marshall of this weekend’s Beaver Dam Holiday Parade.
In a statement via his publicist, Benjamin Beaver had this to say:
“It is an honor to be recognized by the Mascot Hall of Fame and I thank all of my loyal Beaver Dam fans for their votes which made it possible. I am thrilled to come out of my lodge again to celebrate with our great community as the Grand Marshall in the holiday parade. I just hope you play my favorite holiday song – O Christmas Tree”
Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tracy Propst says it was only appropriate that Benny would be selected for such an honor.
Benny the Beaver will be leading this Saturday’s Beaver Dam Holiday Parade beginning at 5:30pm on the 200 block of Front Street near Park Plaza Pizza.
From there the procession of nearly 50 entries will continue east onto the 100 block of Front Street, past the 164-year-old McKinstry’s Home Furnishing’s storefront where WBEV’s Wade Bates and Craig Warmbold will be broadcasting the parade’s play-by-play on the air and for the DailyDodge video stream.
The parade will then turn south onto South Spring Street, past Ooga Brewing, and conclude at Mill Street.
