Government Shut Down Shuts Out Miller

7/14/11 – Miller-Coors has been ordered by Minnesota state officials to pull its beer products from stores, taverns, and restaurants. That’s because their state license renewals could not be processed by July first, when Minnesota’s government shutdown began. Those licenses have now expired. The state’s public safety department has told Miller-Coors to come up with a plan for pulling its products in several days. Julian Green of Miller-Coors says the company is still trying to negotiate a deal with alcohol regulators – but for now, at least, they’re not ruling out legal action. Miller-Coors is based in Chicago, and it runs Wisconsin’s largest brewery in Milwaukee.
