Watertown High School senior Drew Hinrichs signed her National Letter of Intent to play NCAA Division One College Softball at Northern Iowa earlier this week. Hinrichs is a three time All-Badger Conference selection garnering 1st team honors in 2023 and 2022 and Honorable Mention in 2021. And was an WFSCA All-State pick in 2023.
Here’s what Northern Iowa had to say about signing Hinrichs
Drew Hinrichs – Watertown, Wisconsin (Watertown HS) – Catcher/1B
Hinrichs is an impact bat that posted a .410 batting average last season at Watertown High School. The Watertown, Wisconsin native is a two-time WFSCA First Team All-District selection and was named to the 2023 WFSCA Division 1 First Team All-State. Hinrichs is also a two-time team captain for the Gosling and a two-time first team all conference selection in the Badger-Large Conference.
Hinrichs and the Gosling won the 2023 Badger-Large Conference and won a regional championship in 2022 and 2023. She is also a four-year letterwinner in basketball and has been named to the Badger-Large First Team All-Conference in consecutive seasons. Hinrichs has played both first base and catcher during her career.
“Drew is a very polished middle of the lineup hitter from the right side of the plate,” Jacobs said. “Everything she does with the bat is consistent and efficient. Defensively she can handle a pitching staff, she has a plus arm and throws out a ton of baserunners. She also plays first base equally well, her size and quickness are unique.”
