Golden Beaver Football Heads To Fort Atkinson Tonight on DDTV & 1430 ESPN

The Beaver Dam High School football team travels to Fort Atkinson tonight in a game you can hear on 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam and watch on DailyDodge TV.

The Golden Beavers (0-2) are looking for their first win of the season after dropping non-conference games to Monroe and Baraboo through the first two weeks.  Camron Mendoza leads the balanced Beaver Dam rushing attack through the first two games on the season with 59 yards.  Bradyn Strachota (55 yards) and Aiden Root (42 yards) have also contributed to the ground game.  Kyler Keel has hauled in six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. Eli Bryant has completed 7 of 13 passes this season for 99 yards with one TD and one interception. 

For Atkinson (1-1) has split their first to games of the season, beating Milton 20-14 in their opener then were shutout 18-0 last weekend at West Bend West.  QB Dane Brost has throw for 183 yards with one touchdown and one interception through the first two games.  Mason Dressler has been carrying the load on the ground, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown. Eli Cosson is the Blackhawks leading receiver this season with 11 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown.

These teams last met during the alternate 2020 spring season on April 23rd, 2021 with Fort Atkinson coming away with a 28-21 win at Derleth Field. Antonio Torres’ 82 yard kickoff return for a touchdown with 4:02 left in the 4th quarter was the difference in the game.   In that game QB Carter Riesen connected with Evan Sharkey on a school record 93 yard touchdown pass.

Tonight’s kickoff is set for 7:15pm.  The John Deere Pregame Show is set for 6:45pm.  The game is presented by Columbus Family Dental, Hometown Glass and Improvement and the Beaver Dam Unified School District.
