He began his career at MEC in Mayville an lived on Fox Lake for many years. He an his wife an daughter (Tara) moved to the opposite side of the lake to start a new adventure, owning an operating Miller’s Resort on Chief Kuno Trail. Jerry loved the people he met while behind the bar, selling bait, plowing driveways, an taking folks pontoons in an out of the lake over the years. As most know, he was a man of many talents an of few words. Grumpy “Jer” was hard to read, but would give his shirt off his back to help anyone.
Jerry loved to hunt, fish, an ride his motorcycles. After the sale of the Resort he an his wife moved to Montello, WI an then later built their forever home back in the woods in Black River Falls, WI. He eventually accepted a position with the State Of WI, teaching inmates metal furniture at Waupun Correctional an then transferred to New Lisbon an Jackson Correctional where he eventually retired.
Jerry and Donna enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, Lake Michigan fishing with great friends the “Sunderlands” an family. Later in life he enjoyed hunting an riding wheelers with friends an family up in Black River Falls. Many know getting Jerry to leave his Black River sanctuary was often like pulling teeth but he’d always be willing to help friends an family trim trees and make firewood. His daughter Tara would have him in Montello once an awhile to put up trim, an woodworking projects that they enjoyed doung together. Jerry was also blessed with an amazing group of friends over the years to share in hunting, riding motorcycles an wheelers, cutting wood an just shooting the breeze with while enjoying a cocktail.
