UPDATE: Columbus Gas Leak Has Been Resolved

(Columbus) A gas leak in Columbus has been resolved. Columbia County Emergency Management officials say the natural gas line was struck by construction crews near the intersection of Farnham and Poet Streets around 8:45am Friday morning.

They say the leak has since been stopped by WE Energies employees. Residents who were evacuated can return to their homes and businesses. WE Energies predicts roughly 62 buildings near the intersection will be without natural gas until 4pm Friday afternoon.

The utility is working to restore gas service to all affected properties. WE Energies staff will contact each building to make sure service is restored. There were no injuries reported.
