Here’s a look at Friday’s results from area wrestlers the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament in Madison.
Division Two
113 Waupun’s Easton Hull lost to Wyatt Kaczrowski of Seymour 13-5 and then dropped a 3-1 decision to Brandan Konitzer of Oconto Falls to end his season.
113 CF/Rio/Pardeeville ‘s Jayden Price was pinned Tanner Anderseon of GET-M in 1:30. Price then pinned Ryen Hazzard of Edgerton in 1:00. He’ll wrestle again on Saturday morning and is still alive for 3rd place.
Division Three
113 Markesan’s Cole Slark pinned Grant Geiger of Brillion in 2:22 to advance to tonight’s Semifinals. Slark was pinned by Cameron’s Tanner Gerber at 1:41 in the Semifinals and will face Karter Stuttgen of Stratford on Saturday morning. He’s still alive for 3rd place.
145 Dodgeland’s Hayden Kurth lost to Mason Lull of Fennimore 9-5 and then beat Phillips’ Hunter Bruhn 13-3 in Consolation Bracket. He’ll wrestle again on Saturday and is still alive for 3rd place.
170 Horicon’s Brandon Zamorano pinned Tyler Hach of Riverdale in 2:45 to move onto the Semifinals where he was defeated by Cadott’s Brady Spaeth 13-1. Zamorano will face Random Lake’s Samuel Schwabe on Saturday morning and he is still alive for 3rd place.
170 Marshall’s Dylan Horstmeyer edged Adam Charneke of Rosholt 4-3 in the quarterfinals. Horstmeyer then defeated Wesby’s Conner Valland 5-2 in the Semifinals. Horstmeyer will wrestle for the state championship on Saturday night against Cadott’s Brady Spaeth.
285 Markesan’s Bryce Friday dropped an 5-3 OT decision John Farkus of Amherst in the D3 Quarterfinals this afternoon. Friday then pinned Logan Klass of Fennimore at 2:32. Friday will wrestle again on Saturday morning and is still alive for 3rd place.
