Friday COVID-19 Update

(Dodge County) Wisconsin health officials are reporting 656 positive coronavirus cases in Friday’s daily update. There are 8,209 active cases in the state, a decrease of 221 from Thursday. Active cases make up 1.5-percent of the 562-thousand people who have tested positive to date. So far, there have been 548-thousand recoveries.

State health officials recorded five deaths bringing that total to 6,399. Deaths account for 1.1-percent of all cases in Wisconsin while 4.6-percent of those known to have contracted the virus needed to be hospitalized. Of the two-million people who have died worldwide, the CDC says 508-thousand people have died in the United States.

The Wisconsin Department of Health website says Dodge County has experienced 155 deaths and 11,397 cases, a one-day increase of eight positive tests. The county had 39,954 negative tests returned so far. Health officials in Dodge County are actively monitoring 113 people, 12 fewer than on Thursday.

Washington County has seen 134 deaths, one more than on Thursday, along with 13,727 cases to date.

Fond du Lac County has reported 93 deaths with 11,958 positive tests on record; 156 are active cases.

The state says Jefferson County has recorded 111 deaths and 7,860 cases to date.

Columbia County has reported 51 deaths and 5,018 positive tests; there are 57 active cases.

Green Lake County has 18 deaths with 1,524 cases on record; nine cases have been reported in the last two week.
