Free Document Shredding Event To Be Held Friday At Waupun Hospital

(Waupun) There is a free document shredding event Friday. Citizens can go to Waupun Memorial Hospital at 620 West Brown Street between noon and 2pm.

SSM Health is partnering with Iron Mountain Information Management to shred confidential documents which will ultimately be recycled to make paper towels, napkins, tissue, and toilet paper. The public can bring in their bank and credit card statements, invoices, or anything with a person’s name or address on it.

There is no need to remove paper clips or staples. Unacceptable items include cardboard or plastics, common trash, three ring binders, CD’s or DVD’s, computers, or any magnetic media. Participants are asked to enter off Beaver Dam Street behind the new two-story patient care building, watch for signs, and a volunteer will help unload papers into the shredding truck on site.

The first 50 people will receive a reusable tumbler. Waupun Memorial Hospital President DeAnn Thurmer says caring for the environment is an important part of their mission.
